Snow

We will not actually miss Zurich weather in general. We've averaged 50 degrees this week and seen very little sun. That's like a bad January in Mobile.

But I have loved being surrounded by snow in the winter.

Zurich doesn't really get the pretty snow, you have to go seek it out in the mountains or even just up in the surrounding areas like my school. Here's a shot at recess:

We probably didn't take as much advantage of the ski slopes as we should have but we'll blame that on having one ski season with a broken leg and another with a newborn! Still, we had some terrific times skiing and sledding and playing with friends.

We're not so sure that Townes is going to miss the snow as much as we will:

***Now, I should respond to a few emails I've had about our plans once we leave here. Coy has requested a leave of absence from work and we're returning to Ghana for a few months. The plan is that Coy will spend part of the week helping the hospital where he volunteered in 2000. He will also work for a micro-finance group in a nearby city. I am very excited about the chance to assist the opening of a preschool in the village. We then intend to spend a few months in Tanzania with another micro-finance group. As for what we'll be doing post-Africa, you'll just have to stay tuned because we're not sure ourselves! The decision to take this time deserves an epic post of its own but I just wanted to bring you all up to date. In the meantime, my attempt at documenting a list of things we love about Switzerland is just a way to force some reflection amidst the whirlwind of all that needs to come together in the next weeks before we leave.
